Founder and Executive Director

Melvine Praxides Ouyo

Melvine Ouyo is the Founder and Executive Director of Hope for Kenya Slum Adolescents Initiative (HKSAI), where she leads the organization's mission to empower vulnerable adolescents and young people through education, health, vocational skills development, advocacy, and economic empowerment. A seasoned Public Health and Policy expert with over 20 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to advancing health equity, gender equality, reproductive health and rights, and sustainable community development. Melvine is a Mid-Career Master's graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School and continues to champion evidence-based policies and community-driven solutions that improve the lives of women, girls, and underserved communities across Kenya.

Eunice Murambi

Eunice Murambi serves as the Chairlady of the Board at Hope for Kenya Slum Adolescents Initiative (HKSAI), providing strategic leadership and governance to advance the organization's mission of empowering vulnerable adolescents and young people. She is committed to strengthening institutional growth, promoting effective advocacy, and fostering sustainable partnerships that drive lasting community impact across Kenya.

Kevin Owino

Kevin O. Owino is a Board Member of Hope for Kenya Slum Adolescents Initiative (HKSAI) and a technology entrepreneur dedicated to driving digital innovation for social impact. He is the Co-founder of Nestict Infotech, where he leads the delivery of ICT solutions, business process automation, and digital transformation services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Kevin brings expertise in technology strategy, innovation, and organizational systems, supporting HKSAI's mission to strengthen digital capacity, operational excellence, and sustainable community development.

Raila Opany

Raila Opany is a Board Member of Hope for Kenya Slum Adolescents Initiative (HKSAI), bringing extensive experience in education, peacebuilding, and community development. He is an Educationist, Peace Ambassador, Founder of Humane Initiative, and Regional Director at One African Child Foundation. Passionate about youth empowerment, child protection, and inclusive education, Raila works to promote leadership, social cohesion, and sustainable opportunities that enable children and young people to thrive.

Gloria Madegwa

Gloria Madegwa is a Board Member of Hope for Kenya Slum Adolescents Initiative (HKSAI) and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She is a human rights advocate with extensive experience in legal advisory, strategic partnerships, and programme leadership. As Director of Programs and Strategic Partnerships at the Defenders Coalition, Gloria works to strengthen human rights, gender equality, and community-led initiatives, bringing valuable expertise in governance, policy advocacy, and institutional development to support HKSAI's mission of empowering vulnerable adolescents and promoting sustainable community transformation.
